A media company producing solutions-focused journalism that empowers, educates, and entertains people who care about climate change and sustainability.
How Bluedot Started
President and Founder Victoria Riskin lost her home in Santa Barbara’s horrific mudslides in 2018. The news was full of such stories — about the devastation caused by climate change. She decided to dedicate her energies to instead telling stories about the positive, hopeful work she saw people doing to protect our planet.
Bluedot Inc., established in 2021, is a rapidly expanding media company that shines a light on those creating change in their communities, professions, and organizations.
What We Do
Bluedot Living celebrates innovators, problem-solvers, beekeepers, regenerative farmers, scientists, recipe developers, electrical vehicle owners, environmental leaders — people making a difference. While the emphasis is on how people live, we also feature important stories about innovative businesses, urban transformation, energy transition, water challenges, and new technologies.
We highlight both global and hyper-local stories and resonate with readers who want to understand climate issues and take action. Our award-winning national and local websites with biweekly newsletters have grown to an impressive base of more than 250,000 subscribers.
Bluedot Living Kitchen digital magazine and weekly newsletter includes planet-friendly recipes and tips to reduce food waste and shop sustainably.
Marketplace recommends sustainable products from good companies online and in newsletters including a dedicated biweekly BuyBetter email.
