Climate Quick Tips: Cast-Iron Pan Need Some TLC? 

Add a little tater loving care to your pan — chop a potato in half, sprinkle some coarse salt all over the pan, and scrub away! The oxalic acid in the potato and the abrasiveness of the salt clean cast-irons and ready them for re-seasoning.
