Dear Reader,
It’s one of life’s ironies that when we can go to school, we don’t really want to. It’s only as an adult that Dot truly appreciates the value of listening to an expert and learning just how fascinating our world really is. If you’d like to school yourself on climate change, The Crash Course offers free classes (on YouTube) on everything from “how can countries work together on climate change?” to “how can we store renewable energy?” Courses (available in English and Spanish) are free and suitable for high school or college level learners.
Other environmental education options include Santa Barbara-based Explore Ecology, which teaches green living to tens of thousands of students each year, and a high school in Massachusetts that takes students to a farm where they participate in land stewardship.
Whatever your age, being a student of the world around us helps pave the way for valuing and caring for it.
Learnedly,
Dot
