Eco-friendly dog toys and tips for grooming.
Dear Reader,
The Canine Dots are determined chewers. Theo can’t have soft toys because he swallows them whole (our vet has already excavated a teddy bear from Theo’s digestive tract), which means that Cali can’t have soft toys either, since Theo doesn’t recognize toy ownership. And so … hard chew toys it is, including the Indestructibone, which so far lives up to its name. But another favorite is made-from-nylon Benebone (the wishbone version, bacon flavor please!)
And here’s a cool thing: Once the Doggie Dots have loved their toys to death, Benebone will reincarnate them into … new chews. It’s pretty simple: Create an account on Benebone’s site, add the $10 recycling label to your cart (you’ll get it back in credit for new toys), attach the emailed label to a box filled with five or more of any brand of massacred chew toys, and drop it at your local UPS outlet.
Like a very good dog chasing its tail, it’s a circular economy of canine chew toys.
Gnawingly,
Dot
