    Dear Reader,

Dot hopes you enjoyed this year’s 12 Days of Giftmas, inspired by Bluedot’s new online storefront. If you missed it, check it out here and scratch a few more gifts off your list.

Today Dot introduces you to some delightful Climate Champs — a group of Italian Nonnes who have taken the Internet by storm. The Pasta Grannies are showing us all that slow is supreme, that handmade is heartfelt, that pasta lovingly created by elderly hands is food for the soul.

Vicky Bennison is the woman behind the Pasta Grannies. She travels Italy in search of Nonnes to celebrate their rapidly disappearing edible art form. You can watch her on the Pasta Grannies YouTube channel.

Why does Dot consider them Climate Champs? Because we’re easier on the Earth when we slow down and savor. Because taking time to use real ingredients typically means less packaging and less waste. Because we all benefit when we cherish what we have and recognize the wisdom of our elders.

And so Dot issues a hearty salute to the Pasta Grannies, reminding all of us to slow down this season and teaching the art of pasta making to new generations.

    Deliciously,

    Dot
