The price of renewable energy is dropping.

It’s ironic that, as some corporations and countries have backed away from the climate commitments to curb carbon emissions, we are experiencing not only a surge in the implementation of renewable energy, but also a huge reduction in its cost, making solar and wind by far the cheapest form of energy available. (And, of course, the cleanest.) But the report from European think tank Ember notes that this is just half the battle — “the other is rolling out the stuff to make use of all that clean power.” But that electrotech revolution, they say, “is going remarkably well, especially in the developing world.”
So, as fossil fuel extraction gets more expensive, electrotech will continue to drop in relative cost and contribute significantly to job growth. The future is here. And it’s electric.
