    Jackalo Apparel for Kids

Founded in 2020 by a mom tired of flimsy kids’ clothes, Jackalo makes durable, comfortable basics meant to stand up to serious play. The line includes gender-neutral tees, shorts, and pants, along with dresses and skirts, most in cheery, solid colors. Flat seams and easy-on designs make the clothes ideal for sensitive kids. Extra-long legs and reinforced knees help clothes outlast growth spurts and adventures.

Fabrics include GOTS Certified organic cotton, linen, hemp, and deadstock textiles that would have otherwise gone to waste. Jackalo aims to keep its clothing from reaching that same fate and ending up in the landfill. When garments no longer fit, families can send them back, regardless of condition, for a $2–15 store credit per item. The company repairs and resells what it can, and composts or recycles everything else. We love this circular approach.

As a 1% for the Planet member company, Jackalo (like Bluedot) gives a percentage of all sales to environmental causes. The company offsets carbon emissions and partners with a Fair Trade Certified factory in India to make its clothes. Prices start around $34, with most pieces under $100. Sales — and of course pre-loved items — offer a great opportunity to find items for less. Thoughtful, circular, and designed with real life in mind, Jackalo makes a strong case for better kids’ clothes. The company also offers select basics for women.
