Meow Meow Tweet Face, Body, and Hair Care

Brooklyn-born, California-made, queer-owned, small-batch vegan apothecary Meow Meow Tweet makes skin, hair, and body care products that are undeniably hip. The founders, two art school pals, fell in love with soap-making and launched the brand in 2009, naming it for their pets, two cats and a bird. Fortunately, the products do more than look cute on the bathroom shelf: They work well, smell great, and come in thoughtful, sustainable packaging. In fact, Meow Meow Tweet was the first brand to sell deodorant in a backyard-compostable paper tube. Meow Meow Tweet still makes its products in small batches, but the company has definitely grown up in recent years and is now a Certified B Corp.

In addition to its well-known deodorant sticks and creams, Meow Meow Tweet also sells great face, hair, and body products. Top picks include the multi-use Chamomile Myrrh Repair Balm, the nourishing Lemon Rose Cleansing Oil, and seasonal soaps in intriguing scents such as Black Walnut Vetiver and Violet Leaf Pinyon. We also recommend the innovative Rose Geranium Shampoo Powder, which you lather up in the shower. A recently launched bulk section and package recycling program make it easy to reduce waste, while inexpensive minis can help you find items you love before committing.
