Axel Arigato Sneakers
We’ve done a deep dive into sustainable tennis shoes lately, and Swedish brand Axel Arigato takes the cake when it comes to fashion — just check out all the shoes with the signature embroidered bird logo. Two sneakerheads co-founded the company in 2014, determined to make beautiful, luxury shoes at (relatively) affordable prices. A focus on community launched A.A. to success quickly; weekly drops of small-run items allowed consumers to provide feedback in real-time and helped the brand hone its hip look. All leather is a byproduct of the meat industry and has been certified Gold or Silver by the Leather Working Group. Shoes cost $275 and up; a new XChange program allows consumers to score (and resell) used A.A. goods for less (although it's mostly available in Europe for now).
