Description

These smoky, spiced chickpeas are perfect for topping pizzas and salads, but they are also great on their own as a crunchy snack! Get the kids helping in the kitchen and let them mix everything in a big bowl before popping the chickpeas in the oven.

Instructions

  1. Move the oven rack to the top position and preheat the oven to broil. In a medium bowl, combine the chickpeas, maple syrup, vinegar, and spices. Toss until evenly coated.
  2. Spread the chickpeas on a lined cookie sheet in a single layer. Broil, stirring once halfway through, until the chickpeas firm up and start to brown, about 7 to 15 minutes. Check frequently to prevent burning.
  3. Remove the chickpeas from the oven and set aside to cool slightly before using.
