BAY RIDGE โ€” City Councilmember Justin Brannan (Bay Ridge-Coney Island) on Monday announced that the segment of the Shore Parkway Promenade betweenย the Verrazzano Narrows Bridge and the Ceasarโ€™s Bay shopping center is set for an $8 million overhaul to repair erosion damage and structural decay,ย reports the Brooklyn Paper.

The project will restore the greenspaceโ€™s deteriorating seawall and improve waterfront accessibility and safety with upgraded and repaired foot and bike paths. Other projects in southern Brooklynโ€™s waterfront greenway expansion will see Shore Park and Leif Ericsson Park receive new lighting, game tables, adult fitness areas and seating, along with other upgrades. Construction is expected to begin this fall.

The city has committed nearly $40 million to the broader Shore Parkway green belt overhaul.
