Bluedot’s Marketplace Editor adores “the ease and preppy cool” of Sperry Top-Siders. Happily, the 85-year-old company has been making great strides toward more sustainable boat shoes and sneakers. Elizabeth recently ordered her first pair from the brand’s SeaCycled collection, a growing line of shoes made with recycled materials. The report: “My new sustainable Top-Siders are just as cute and well-made as all my others. Go Sperry!” They haven’t neglected to improve the processes surrounding their signature leather, either. Since 2018, Sperry says it has saved nearly 98 million gallons of water by sourcing leather from tanneries with Silver and Gold ratings from the Leather Working Group.
